This newly commissioned series from Oxbow books aims to provide a vehicle for publication of the latest research into Hellenistic, Roman, and early Byzantine Crete, periods which have perhaps been overshadowed by the archaeology of the Bronze Age civilisations. The archaeological remains of these periods are extensive and often spectacular and have seen renewed interest among scholars over recent. decades with many new international excavation and survey projects. Cretan Studies aims to create opportunities for both new and established researchers to publish their work within a series dedicated to their study area, providing centralised publications on the subject area in the forefront of research for these periods as well as being one of the main sources of information.
